Always Connected to the Emergency Department
DZMx Air Medical & SAR Solution
The Flightcell DZMx Air Medical & Search and Rescue (SAR) solution allows aircrew and the Emergency Department to be in constant contact and to share critical patient information. Voice and tracking is transmitted over cellular networks when in range, or over Iridium satcom when in more remote locations. Tracking handover between the two networks is seamless.
The crew can talk directly (via the ICS) to lost parties and casualties that have a cellphone with them, and confidential voice calls between the crew and the ED are secure, when compared with radio communication. The crew can also use the broadband data capability, when in cellular range, to check weather and LZ information.
The optional DZMx Remote Head provides up to two additional control heads that can be used from multiple locations within the aircraft. This solution provides FDM compliance to the FAA rule 135.607 for helicopter air ambulance operations.

Bristow UK Search and Rescue (SAR) operate a fleet of Sikorsky S-92 and AgustaWestland 189 helicopters from 10 bases in the UK. They talk directly to casualties on the ground and receive outstanding support from Flightcell.
DZMx Air Medical advantages:

Flightcell DZMx helping the UK’s critically ill babies and children
“We chose the Flightcell’s DZM systems because crystal clear communications and uninterrupted tracking can make the difference between life and death when operating Search and Rescue.”
As soon as we were presented with the Flightcell DZMx we leapt on the opportunity to install the smaller and lighter unit for our new twin engine BK117. Our costs are lightweight too – as the cellular connection has slashed our voice, data and tracking costs significantly! As well as compact size, the Flightcell DZMx includes game-changing technology and we can customise the product for our exact needs. Once again the forward thinking developers at Flightcell have gone way beyond what we as customers thought we needed.”
